“100 % American”: Donald Trump releases an Android smartphone… and becomes a mobile operator

Donald Trump is everywhere, but he arrives where we did not expect him: in mobile telephony. Trump T1, a flashy smartphone in the colors of his ego, and Trump Mobile, an operator in his name, have just been released in the United States. Objective ? Sell ​​a “patriotic lifestyle”, Android version.

You had to dare. And of course, he did it. On June 14, 2025, his birthday, Donald Trump inaugurated a new expansion of his brand: the Trump T1, an Android smartphone with golden finishes, and Trump Mobile, a virtual mobile operator. Everything is officially launched from the White House, or almost, in a context where the border between public service and personal business seems more and more vague.

A surprising fact, the smartphone highlighted on newly open social networks present a completely different smartphone.

The smartphone, sold $ 499 (around € 430) runs under Android 15. It displays a muscular technical sheet: 6.8 inch AMOLED screen, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, jack, triple photo sensor and large battery. All “assembled in the United States”, even if the details remain vague. But more than specs, it is the ideological packaging that challenges: Tap-à-l’oeil design, colored box in the American flag, and calibrated marketing to seduce the Maga electorate, of course.

On the network side, Trump Mobile rents the infrastructure of the three major American operators (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T), and offers a unique package, baptized … “The 47 Plan”. An obvious wink to its current status of 47ᵉ President of the United States.

The package is displayed at $ 47.45/month-another wink to its two terms: 45ᵉ and 47ᵉ President of the United States, obviously-and includes calls, SMS, unlimited data, road assistance, medical teleconsultation, calls to military bases, and customer service based in the United States.

For us French, this initiative resembles a life -size caricature of American political capitalism. But across the Atlantic, the mixture of genres between patriotism, business and tech continues to seduce part of the population. Not sure that it crosses the Atlantic … but in 2025, it is better to exclude anything.
