12 years of lifespan: this battery for electric vehicle wants to upset the industry

The Shenxing Pro Super Long Life & Long Range Battery offers up to 758 km of autonomy per load according to the WLTP standard. The lifespan of this battery impresses since we talk about 12 years old, or 1 million kilometers.

A battery with the lifespan of 12 years

CATL explains that there are only 9 % degradation after 200,000 km. This is a promise, it must be said, very daring. The industry is fighting so that the species of life of the batteries is as long as possible.

Another battery has been presented, the Shenxing Pro Super-Fast Charging Battery, which favors the recharge speed. 10 minutes of load is enough to recover 478 km of autonomy.

For performance, we are talking about 830 kW of power and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, even with 20 % battery. Obviously, this data depend on the type of electric vehicle equipped and the driving style.

CATL also evokes 410 km of autonomy with a load of 20 minutes even at less than 20 degrees. The cold is the enemy of electric vehicles, the Chinese manufacturer seems to have thought about it.

These two batteries have a cell architecture called Wave. They offer omnidirectional removal of vibrations, a 25 % stiffness with competing batteries and multidirectional cooling.

Europe is an important market for Catl that is putting big on it. We still speak of 11 billion euros invested on the old continent. If the Chinese manufacturer’s press release does not talk about it, these Shenxing Pro batteries could also conquer other markets.
