After several months spent working at theOCS integration in its bouquet, the group Canal+ announced the launch this summer of a new offer which should attract fans of cinema and series. Ciné+ OCS will be offered from July 3 and, according to the group, this formula “enriched and consolidated will bring together the best of OCS and Ciné+.”

More cinema and series

However, the details surrounding this new offer remain unclear. If a press release announces that this offer will be available in Canal+ offers as well as from its distribution partners, we do not know how much it will cost.

Rather than talking about prices and subscription conditions, Canal+ preferred to focus on what will be included in this Ciné+ OCS offer. It will thus be a question of offering six channels and an on-demand service to fans of cinema and series.

The latter will be able to enjoy exclusive films from 6 months after their theatrical release, but also new French and international series, including creations from the OCS Signature label.

OCS, infinitely cinema, resolutely series : New films on television and premium series.

A strengthened offer… with fewer channels

The lack of details around this new offer still leaves some Canal+ subscribers perplexed. Many people deplore the fact that the group presents Ciné+ OCS as a “strengthened” offer when it seems to reduce the number of channels. Subscribers will in fact go from 6 Ciné+ channels and 3 OCS channels to 5 Ciné+ channels and one OCS channel.

Certainly, the nine existing channels before the merger of Canal+ and OCS presented duplicates, such as Ciné+ classic and OCS Géants, and it is logical that the group has therefore consolidated this number, but Internet users are worried about seeing the program schedule fatally affected by this reduction of chains.

If the Ciné+ OCS offer will replace the Ciné+ and OCS bouquets, it remains to be seen how it will be integrated with other formulas offered by Canal+, such as the Ciné Séries subscription.
