Amazon announces renewals…

Let's start with a complete non-surprise. Even before the broadcast of season 4, on June 13, the flagship series The Boys was renewed for a season 5 via a small teaser. Homelander and Butcher are therefore not finished confronting each other.

(a little) more surprising renewal, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, a series adaptation of the eponymous film, will return for a season 2 after the great success of the premiere last February. On the other hand, headliners Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are not expected to be back in front of the camera. It remains to be seen whether fans will know the fate of this couple following the events of season 1, or whether they will meet new characters brought to experience the explosive mix of espionage and marriage. Francesca Sloane will be alone as showrunner, with Donald Glover obviously moving on.

Mrs. and Mrs. Smith

Well-deserved rest for Donald Glover and Maya Erskine.

…and new features for Prime Video

Let's move on to the few new features announced. First of all, the series adaptation project in live action video games tomb Raider by Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been confirmed. The acclaimed creator of Fleabagvisibly rocked by the heroine throughout her life, will be responsible for the writing and executive production of this show.

A partnership between Amazon MGM Studios and the Crystal Dynamics studio already raises the possibility of other series and films in the world of the archaeologist and adventurer, while a new game is on the way. Who to succeed Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft? Answer soon.

Not content with announcing a sequel to his remake of Road HousePrime Video revealed the start of work on a prequel series to the film Blonde's Revenge. The show will be produced by Reese Witherspoon's studio, Hello Sunshine. Laura Kittrell (Insecure) will occupy the showrunner's chair to oversee this series which will focus on the high school life of Elle Woods, before becoming the young woman in the 2001 film.
