Asus met with the press on May 20 to unveil its first laptop PC equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite processor. The latter has the particularity of presenting an ARM architecture similar to that with which Apple has equipped the Apple M processors of its Macs.

A leak on the brand's website

The secret concerning the identity of the laptop model was more or less well kept by Asus, but smart people have found the chassis reference S5507, close to the S5506, which corresponds to the VivoBook S 15 Oled, currently sold with an Intel processor Core Ultra (S5506MA).

This morning, we spotted the reference S5507QA, which corresponds to the VivoBook S 15 Oled equipped with a Snapdragon X Elite or Plus processor, on the manufacturer's Vietnamese online store. The latter fully reveals the characteristics of the PC.

The VivoBook S 15 Oled is a model already marketed with a Core Ultra 7, and Asus does not seem to have changed the characteristics of its chassis unduly.
Two Snapdragon X configurations were online, the first with the Snapdragon X1E-78-100, i.e. 12 cores clocked at 3.4 GHz without frequency boost. 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD complete the configuration.

The 15.6-inch Oled panel displaying 2880 x 1620 px remains the centerpiece of this chassis. It offers a maximum brightness of 600 cd/m² in peak HDR and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The connectivity consists of two USB4 ports (instead of the two Thunderbolt ports of the Intel version), two USB 3.2 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port and a microSD card reader. The wireless part, however, includes wifi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 unlike the Intel version which is satisfied with wifi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The VivoBook S 15 Oled has a design close to the 14 and 16 inch versions.

The only real difference with the chassis equipped with Intel's Core Ultra, the VivoBook S 15 Oled with the Snapdragon X has a slightly smaller battery: 70 Wh instead of the 75 Wh of the Intel version. However, Asus does not indicate the autonomy obtained with this configuration.

The VivoBook S 15 Oled equipped with a Qualcomm processor should be available in June from €1,200, according to the first leaks that we have observed from resellers.
