However, other changes would be considered according to various informants. Over the past few weeks, Mark Gurman has distilled some of them via his newsletters Power On. In particular, we learned that the home screen ofiOS 18 would benefit from further customization, notably with the possibility of putting applications and widgets anywhere. Thus, Apple's traditional storage grid, which currently requires placing icons in a single file, would disappear. The journalist also mentions the possibility of changing the color of the icons, a bit like what Google does with all the applications installed on its Pixels since Android 13.

MacRumors for its part shared developments in Apple Maps under iOS 18, with the addition of topographical maps on watchOS 10 and a customizable routes function to control all the details of your journey. As for Messages, the media recently explained that in addition to supporting the RCS protocol, Apple would allow the addition of visual effects responsible for animating words in conversations.

To finish on the new features outside artificial intelligence of the next iPhone update, Mark Gurman revealed two other changes planned by Apple on Sunday June 2. The first would concern the control center, “updated with a new music widget and improvements to the way it manages home automation devices” ; the second would be linked to the Settings application, whose rearrangement and search would be improved (macOS should benefit from a similar reorganization).

The Bloomberg journalist also mentioned the introduction of a new interface for the Photos app and improvements for Mails.
