Galaxy Watch FE: Samsung would take inspiration from Apple by recycling an old watch model

There 2024 range of connected watches from Samsung promises to be enriched with two new models: the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Watch FE, adding to two Galaxy Watch 7s. The first would offer a premium alternative to the Apple Watch Ultra, while the second would tackle the accessible Apple Watch SE. For the affordable model, Samsung would employ a strategy similar to the Apple firm, according to first images: the reuse of an old watch.

Shared this Tuesday on Twitter / Galaxy Watch 4. A strategy which is reminiscent of that of Apple, which reused the design of the Watch Series 4 for Watch SE. The images still show the presence of new bracelets, with blue and orange reminders at the ends.

The same informant reveals the technical sheet of Samsung's Galaxy Watch FE, clearly similar to that of the Galaxy Watch 4. According to the leaker, it would feature a 1.2-inch Super Amoled screen, an Exynos W920 chip, 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB of storage, or a 247 mAh battery offering up to 30 hours of battery life. The only difference would be in the software, since One UI 5 Watch would be pre-installed on the device, replacing One UI 3 Watch. In addition, the sensors (accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, heart rate monitor, electrocardiogram and bioelectrical impedance) and connectivity (wifi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS) would be identical.

Finally, the leaker @MysteryLupin announcement for its part the price of the Galaxy Watch FE on Twitter/X: €199. Samsung would thus be banking on an aggressive selling price to tickle Apple's models. For information, the second generation of Watch SE is priced from €279.
