The latest beta version is problematic

More precisely, it seems that the problem comes from version 11.132.0100 of Google Maps deployed on June 3. Several smartphones would cause these blockages, such as the company's Pixels itself and Samsung models. It's a safe bet that the Mountain View firm will publish a patch as soon as possible.

There is, however, two good news. The first is that alternatives like Waze, although the application also belongs to Google, still work on Android Auto. The second is that it is possible to exit the Google Maps beta program.

To do this, go to the Play Store, click on your profile icon in the upper right corner then select Manage apps & device and Beta. Next, search for Google Maps and open its dedicated page. Select Exit below You are a beta tester.

When the operation is completed, install the Google Maps update from the Play Store to use the latest stable version, and no longer experience these unwanted freezes.
