As Apple TV+ prepares to celebrate its fifth anniversary next November, Apple took advantage of the keynote WWDC24 to provide a preview of original programs coming to its streaming platform. And between the return of series like Severance And Silo and the arrival of new films full of Hollywood stars, there is something heavy on the agenda.

The return of flagship series

“We’re about to launch our most exciting program yet, with fantastic new original content arriving every week”said Apple President Tim Cook, during the presentation.

The video below illustrated his remarks, showing first images from season 2 of the series Severancewhose return on Apple TV+ is eagerly awaited by subscribers of the platform, especially since the series saw its production delayed by several months due to the strikes which raged in Hollywood in 2023.

Severance is a series created by Dan Erickson with director and executive producer Ben Stiller (Night at the Museum). This first look at Season 2 shows Mark Scout (Adam Scott) returning to Lemon Industries, a company where he leads a team whose employees have undergone surgery to dissociate their memories related to their professional lives from those related to their private life.

Apple's teaser also gives a glimpse of season 2 of Silo, another successful SF series on the platform. Carried by Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Robbins, the series adapted from the dystopian novels by Hugh Howey tells the story of the last ten thousand inhabitants of Earth, who live a kilometer below the surface to protect themselves from a toxic and deadly world.

But that's not all: subscribers to the platform can also enjoy some images from the new seasons of the series Pachinko (back on August 23), Slow Horses And Shrinking.

A shower of new features to come

Apple's presentation also provides a preview of new films and series coming to its streaming platform, including the miniseries Presumed innocentstarring Jake Gyllenhaal which comes out on June 12, the drama The Voice of the Lakewith Natalie Portman, coming July 19, and the comedy Bad Monkeywith Vince Vaughn, scheduled for August 14.

We can also see some images from the action film The Investigatorsworn by Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, which will arrive on the platform on August 9, as well as productions Fly Me To the Moonwith Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson (released July 10), and Wolfs, action comedy with Brad Pitt and George Clooney (September 18). These two feature films will be released in France in cinemas before later being available on the SVOD service.

In short, as usual, Apple TV+ has stocked up on stars for its new productions and promises to thrill its subscribers to these programs. As a reminder, these are included in the offer of Canal+.
