Chassis, connections, screen of the Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404VA-NK286W

Certified to the MIL-STD-810G military robustness standard, this versatile laptop with a thin and light compact Cool Silver design has an elegant and discreet look.

This Ultrabook integrates good connectivity with its USB-C, its audio port, its practical HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or a monitor for example, its Wi-Fi 5 ac and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless modules for connections and remote communications but also its 3 USBs including 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect USB 3.0 devices.

It is a shame not to be able to backlight the keys of the chiclet keyboard.
The keyboard, however, offers the advantage of being accompanied by NumPad technology. When NumberPad is activated, the touchpad transforms into a tactile number pad for easy entry of numbers.
This is all the more appreciable since, like all models whose format is less than 15 inches, there is not enough space on the right of the keyboard to accommodate a physical numeric keypad.

Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404VA-NK286W

Those most concerned about their privacy will appreciate being able to hide the webcam behind a shutter when not in use.

As it is anti-reflective, the screen ensures better visibility than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Furthermore, due to its IPS technology, the screen benefits from wide viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical.
The screen is also suitable for High Definition content such as videos due to its Full HD definition and its 16:9 format.

Performance, battery life of the Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404VA-NK286W

The Asus VivoBook Go 14 S1404VA-NK286W is a compact versatile laptop PC designed for everyday multipurpose use.

It is based on an Intel Core 5 120U Raptor Lake Refresh processor with 10 hybrid cores and integrated Iris Xe graphics module to provide very good performance in everyday use, such as office automation and Internet surfing.
Or to carry out small multimedia work such as video encoding or light photo editing.

The Core 5 120U is here coupled with 8 GB of standard RAM which can be increased if necessary by adding a RAM strip to the available DDR4 slot, for example to be more comfortable multitasking or under the treatments.

SSD storage advantageously accompanies the heart of this computer since it provides much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a hard drive.
It must be said that in addition to being more robust, quieter and less energy-consuming, an SSD is much faster.

As a result, startups/shutdowns, processing and launching applications are faster than with a hard drive, and you can access online game maps more quickly.

You can view photos and videos but also play light games thanks to the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics solution.

What about capacity? Here we obtain 512 GB equivalent to what standard hard drives offer but also (much) more expensive models.
However, if additional space is needed, an external storage module can be used. Opting for a USB 3.0/USB-C device in this case represents a wise solution to benefit from fast transfers.

As for autonomy, count on around 6 hours of battery operation in light use for this Ultrabook which is easy to transport thanks to its compactness, finesse and lightness. Something to interest some wishing to equip themselves with a student laptop not needing a lot of autonomy.
