Smart rings are definitely one of the trending devices of the moment, driven by the upcoming announcement of Samsung's Galaxy Ring. The device, which is expected to be announced at the event Galaxy Unpacked, scheduled for July 10 in Parisalongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6helps to raise awareness of a sector that was previously confidential, and is embodied by products from Oura and Ultrahuman.

Among the brands launching into the race for connected rings, the manufacturer of smartwatches Amazfit stood out earlier this year, announcing its first model of its kind, the Helio Ring, at CES 2024. Available since spring in the United States, It is now marketed in FranceThe Helio Ring displays particularly precise positioning, since the ring is intended for seasoned athletes, and aims to provide them with information supplementing that offered by their watch, during exercise and during nights of sleep, in particular to allow them to better organize their recovery times.

A “lifestyle” ring in 2025

The ring nevertheless suffers from one difficulty: reserved for a small fringe of users, and moreover available for the moment in two sizes (10 and 12 US, or sizes 62 and 67 French), before being launched in size 8 US (57 FR), which excludes a good number of users – and especially female users – they cannot claim to be sold in large numbers. But Amazfit actually designs this product as a first iteration of a wider range to come. The head of Amazfit France, Grégory Jegou, specifies in fact that the Helio Ring precedes a model “more affordable lifestyle”which is scheduled for release next year.

Let's point out that the Helio Ring is priced at €299, and that we can therefore expect a price below €200 for a ring intended for a less sporty audience, and undoubtedly a little more demanding in terms of design.
