A western shrouded in science fiction

92% on Rotten Tomatoes6.8 on Metacritic7.1 on IMDB6.6 on Critical Sense : series Outer Range was popular, but it was clearly not enough.

Released on May 16, the second season started in third position in the famous Nielsen ranking (which lists the most-watched programs in the United States) with 476 million hours watched, before falling to eighth place the following week with 314 million hours.

A solid result for the streaming service, which nevertheless called time on the series after 15 episodes… and a story that leaves many mysteries unresolved. Carnival Row, Hunters, American God, A League of Their OwnOuter Range adds to the long list of high-profile productions cancelled by Prime Video.

Co-created by Brian Watkins and Charles Murray (The Devil You Know), Outer Range tells the story of a rancher who fights for his land and his family, until the day when a huge, dark and enigmatic void appears at the edge of his land. An intriguing cocktail of western and science fiction that gives all its salt to the series.

The series' casting was an argument in its favor. Alongside Josh Brolin (Dune, No Country for Old Men), we thus found Imogen Poots (28 weeks later), Tamara Podemski (Reservation Dogs) and Lily Taylor (The Conjuring).
