Samsung stops updates for these three smartphones

Updates bring the latest features to smartphones, but also ensure their security by correcting vulnerabilities. However, phones have a limited lifespan since at some point, manufacturers stop providing updates for older models.

Game over for three Galaxy smartphones

Samsung is no exception, since at the end of June 2024, the South Korean firm stopped updating the Galaxy A51 5G, Galaxy A14 and Galaxy M01. Smartphones launched in April, May and June 2020 respectively.

These smartphones are still usable, but they no longer benefit from optimal protection via security updates. This exposes your private data to various attacks carried out by hackers, who could exploit vulnerabilities.

The Galaxy A51 5G, A14, and M01 could also experience performance issues that won't be fixed by updates. The best thing to do is to look at a recent model that is still supported by the South Korean manufacturer. For example, the recent Galaxy A55 And Galaxy S24who will be entitled respectively to updates until March 2029 and until 2031.
