On July 12, 2024, Honor will present a folding device in book format in China: the Magic V3. Already previewed via images, this generation now has nothing to hide in terms of its technical specifications. Several rumors relayed by GSMArena on July 5 paint a portrait of this smartphone.

First of all, we learn that the Magic V3 would be thinner than the Magic V2. It would have a thickness of 9.7 mm in folded mode (-0.2 mm compared to its predecessor), and a weight of 226 g (-5 g). Impressive when you know that the V2 is still the thinnest folding smartphone on the market.

In terms of performance, Honor would have unsurprisingly chosen the same chip as on its excellent Magic 6 Pro : the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The amount of RAM is not specified, however. It is still very likely that the brand will once again turn to 16 GB of RAM.

A photo component not neglected

For the photo module, rumors point out that the Magic V3 would keep the main 50 Mpx sensor with optical stabilization of the Magic V2but would improve the telephoto lens by going from x2.5 to x3.5 for the optical zoom. For its part, the ultra wide-angle was not mentioned. We should therefore stay on a 50 Mpx lens.

Autonomy would be ensured by a 5200 mAh battery compatible with 66 W fast charging and wireless charging. The latest information shared mentions the presence of satellite connectivity, a fingerprint sensor on the side and a metal chassis.

Knowing that the announcement of the Magic V2 took place in China on July 12, 2023, and that marketing in France only began on February 1, 2024, it seems more than likely that the Magic V3 will wait until 2025 to arrive in France.

In the meantime, Samsung plans to steal the spotlight from Honor by announcing its Galaxy Z Fold 6 this Wednesday, July 10. Global marketing should begin on July 24, just before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
