Tesla's most popular model and the only one eligible for the ecological bonus in France, the Model Y has not yet received the developments made last year by the brand to its Model 3 (code name Highland).

The restyled Model Y, known as the Juniper project, is therefore highly anticipated by the brand's customers. A camouflaged model spotted in Pasadena, a city located in the suburbs of Los Angeles, by a certain JacklJack, who shared a photo of it on Redditcould well be the first prototype of the Model Y Juniper seen. The user recalls that the last prototypes of the camouflaged Model 3 Highland had been seen six to seven months before the presentation of the model. Such a time lapse between now and the presentation of the restyled Model Y would be consistent with the latest statements from Elon Musk on the subject, who had indicated on X last month that“No Model Y 'refresh' planned this year.”

This Model Y sports camouflage on its entire front and rear. According to JacklJack, its interior is completely hidden, which makes the theory of a restyled Model Y prototype quite plausible. As a reminder, the modifications that Tesla made to its Model 3 have notably made its front end even more sober. They have also greatly improved the quality of the finish of its interior, added an entertainment screen for rear passengers and improved the comfort of the sedan's suspension. On the other hand, Tesla has chosen to remove the traditional steering wheel switches, which is detrimental to ergonomics. It remains to be seen whether the list of modifications made to the Model Y will match those made to the Model 3.
