There Third beta of iOS 18 for developers is available since today. So some tinkerers have dived into it and discovered a nice feature, already offered on macOS: a dynamic version of the default wallpaper offered by Apple.

Dynamic wallpaper is coming to iOS 18

The previous beta already offered four color variations (yellow, pink, azure and purple) for the wallpaper, as well as dark mode equivalents. But Apple is going a little further here with a fifth option. In this dynamic version, the wallpaper changes color automatically. A video illustration, via the post of leaker ShrimpApplePro, is worth many words:

It is not specified what this change of colors is based on. The time of day is however one of the avenues explored. In any case, for those who regularly like to change their wallpaper, this option has the merit of (soon) existing. With iOS 18, Apple definitely wants to emphasize the customization of the system. Remember that it will be possible to change the color of the home icons and move them.

A (fairly) clear roadmap

Let's remember that the final release of iOS 18 is scheduled for this fall. In the meantime, for the most impatient, a public beta will arrive in July. Finally, for tinkerers who want a preview of the next versions of Apple's other operating systems, new betas for iPadOS 18, watchOS 11 and tvOS 18 have also been available since July 8.
