We were able to approach it: The new iPhone 16 and 16 Pro offer significant battery life improvements compared to last year's models. For example, compared to the iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 gains two hours of additional video playback and video streaming. The iPhone 16 Pro benefits from a maximum endurance of 27 hours of video playback (+4 hours compared to the iPhone 15 Pro), 22 hours of video streaming (+2 hours) and 85 hours of audio playback (+10 hours). Finally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the model that benefits the most from the battery life improvements: 33 hours of video playback (+4 hours compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max), 29 hours of video streaming (+4 hours) and up to 105 hours of audio streaming (+10 hours). These improvements are already impressive, but we now discover that they are not the only ones.

Much faster charging for iPhone 16

So while the new iPhone lineup will take longer to discharge, it will also take less time to recharge. That's what we learn about X, via the ShrimpApplePro account : The Chinese certification of the new iPhone 16 reveals a 45-watt wired charge. However, previous models could reach a maximum of 30 watts. And this was only for the iPhone 15 Pro Max: the classic models were limited to 20 watts. This is therefore an increase of 50% compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and more than 100% compared to the iPhone 15. Despite this significant improvement, Apple decided to keep it quiet during its recent presentation of its new smartphones.

However, rumors had been circulating for a while: all of them announced faster charging for the iPhone 16, and Apple had decided not to respond to them. Ultimately, this better fast charging seems quite logical, especially if we consider the fact that the Cupertino company has mentioned that MagSafe wireless charging could reach 25 watts if combined with a suitable charger.
