More or less serious rumors about the next consoles are rife at this end-of-life period for the Switch. With hardware dating back to 2017 (to give you an idea, the French football team only had one star on its jersey, COVID-19 was still confined to bats and pangolins, François Hollande was still President of the Republic), the Big N console is running out of steam and, despite a quality game library, it struggles to compete technically with Xbox and PlayStation, whose next PS5 Pro was recently unveiled.
THE leak of the day comes from a Discord user named moistycharlie, who is active in a GTA VI channel and claims: “The Switch 2 is going to be announced early next month. I think the MSRP is $400. There will be two models, but I don't have any specific information on the differences.” Why did such a rumor about Nintendo's next console end up on a GTA VI server? Mystery and bubble gum.
The tweezers of rigor
So why give credence to this new claim that is as well-sourced as a claim by Donald Trump about migrants eating pets? Well, our friend moistycharlie had announced Sony's PS5 Pro conference a few days before it was to take place, specifying that it would take place right after the keynote from Apple: in short, enough to establish the seriousness and infallibility of Charlie-the-moist.
In a nutshell, it's best not to take this type of announcement at face value. For the moment, Nintendo has not given any information about its console. We don't even know if it will have a connection, even remotely, with the concept of the Switch.
