Restyled Austral: Renault shows its latest SUV a little too hastily
Seeing their new product leak before its official presentation is a nightmare for manufacturers, who sometimes have to revise their communication plan at the last minute. However, it happens that images of these new models are directly published by the brands by mistake.
Renault seems to be a subscriber to this practice, since a few months after having slipped images of the interior of its future 4L electric In documents on its R5, the French manufacturer gives a first glimpse of the restyling of its Austral.
Thus, the revised and corrected version of the compact SUV, which replaced the Kadjar in 2022, appeared on the brand's media in different markets, such as on its online configurator or on its mobile application. Some users were thus able to discover the front of the restyled Austral, not without a few visual glitches. This is therefore probably not a communication strategically orchestrated by the brand.
A facelift that doesn't go unnoticed
According to the few screenshots circulating on Facebook groups of Austral owners, or on forums of scoop hunters such asAutopareri, Worldscoop And CarSpiasthe front of the Austral will be deeply revised.
The Austral phase 2 will thus take up the latest stylistic codes of Renault, with a grille reminiscent of the SUV coupé Gustor the Grand Koleos recently presented for the South Korean market. According to some of the visuals published, the optics of the restyled Austral seem to adopt a new light signature never before seen at Renault, in addition to the already known half-diamonds. However, it could simply be a visual glitch.
The rear of the restyled Austral remains to be seen. It could abandon the “C”-shaped light signature of the current model for optics with a design closer to that of the Rafale. The interior, meanwhile, should evolve in small touches only.
We will have to wait a few more months to know all the details of the Renault Austral phase 2 and in particular its engine catalog. It should be presented in 2025 and marketed the same year.
