Hisense C2: 5 features to remember about the manufacturer's new 4K trilaser video projector
At IFA in Berlin, a host of manufacturers unveiled their video projectors, including Xgimi, Dangbeior Samsung. The market is evolving rapidly and over the last year or two we have been discovering models that are increasingly interesting and practical to use on a daily basis, whether as a main screen or in addition to a television.
Hisense also unveiled its new video projectors, the PX3-Prothe 4K ultra short focal length model in particular, but also the C2, a faithful replacement for the very good C1 passed in our lab this year. To understand what's changing, here's a list of features to remember:
1. Not one, but three C2s!
Yes, this year, the Hisense C2 becomes a range in its own right with a C2, a C2 Pro and a C2 Ultra. The C2 will be the least expensive with a recommended price of €2,200, the C2 Pro climbs to €2,700 and the much better equipped C2 Ultra will also be much more expensive since it reaches €3,200. These prices are given as an indication by the brand, and we could well find them cheaper at retailers.
2. One adjustable foot for the entire range
This is a new trend for 2024, and all C2s will benefit from an integrated foot that allows you to adjust the tilt of the projector. A feature that is very practical on a daily basis so as not to have to tinker with a homemade support with your most beautiful boxes and books.
3. More brightness on the agenda
Brightness is a bit of a game changer for projectors and with this new generation, it should go from 1600 lumens for the C1 to 2000 lumens for the C2. The C2 Pro will go up to 2600 lumens and the Ultra can send 3000 lumens. This should logically be accompanied by better contrast, but we will obviously check all of this during our tests.
4. A built-in subwoofer
Only the C2 Ultra will benefit from a subwoofer to improve the bass rendering, and this is excellent news. Most video projectors of this type are indeed struggling with bass and this model could change the preconceptions about this type of product. It remains to be seen if this subwoofer will keep its promises.
5. Video game on video projector?
The majority of video projectors on the market are not really suitable for video games. The fault is a delay in display (input lag) too important which can hinder the gaming experience, especially in multiplayer. On its C2 Ultra, Hisense promises a input lag of only 12 ms and we should therefore be able to play without blinking.
The new C2s will be released in the coming weeks, in October for the Ultra, November for the Pro and December for the classic C2.
