iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max: Replacing the battery costs even more than before
By offering its own repair service in Apple Stores, the Apple company is enjoying a serious advantage over its competitors. However, the price continues to climb for certain services, particularly iPhone battery replacement.
Price increase for battery replacement
With the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro MaxApple has in fact increased the bill to €135 for people who have not taken out AppleCare+ protection (still €0 for those who have subscribed to the service).
For comparison, changing the battery costs €109 on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro. The performance on the new generation has thus increased by a little more than 19% compared to these previous models.
By the way, we are far from the €99 for the replacement on the iPhone X iPhone 13or even €79 for the iPhone 5s to the iPhone 8 Plus.
Two potential reasons
To explain this €135 service, including the battery and the replacement service, two reasons seem to emerge.
The first would be the use of significantly larger (and therefore more expensive) batteries because of the new format of the iPhone 16 Pro ; while the second would be linked to the new cooling system, which would make the service more complex and time-consuming to carry out by technicians.
What about the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus?
For the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, nothing has changed. The repair procedure would even have been simplified to please Brussels. So, replacing the battery still costs the sum of €99.
With AppleCare+it's always free. One condition always remains in place for policyholders: the battery must be at 80% of its original capacity.
