Res Arcana: Generate powerful combinations of artifacts
Res Arcana is a game of strategy and combos which takes place in a medieval-fantasy universe. Each player takes on the role of a mage who summons and manipulates powerful artifacts and creaturesin order to become the most powerful arcanist.

It is accessible from 12 years old, for 2-4 players and games of approximately 30 to 60 minutes. To win the game, you will have to manage and optimize the use of your card pack Artifact but also manipulate alchemical essences!

Res Arcana: 8 cards to win
In Res Arcana, it's all about magic. At the start of the game players choose their mage among the two received face down. Each magician has a preferred playstyle which can help you more or less effectively depending on the cards you have received.

Using your 8 cardsYOU create artifacts and summon creatures or dragons. Each card is unique and has its own strengths: generating Essences (of life, death, fire and water), triggering a special effect, stealing essences from your opponents, creating Gold, disengaging an artifact, etc.

It's up to you to make the most of your 8 assets to seize Places of Power or Monuments. Places of Power are effective ways to generate victory points. Monuments give you the opportunity to improve the flexibility of your strategy, while also providing you with valuable points.

It is up to the players to make the right choices in order to achieve the best possible victory point combos. To win the game you must accumulate 10 victory points.. Be careful though because you are limited to 1 action per turn! So choose your priorities carefully! And don't forget to accumulate Magic Essences in order to be able to play and activate your cards!

It's good Thomas Lehmann who is in charge of Res Arcana. Of his previous titles, the author takes up its flagship mechanismsincluding the optimization of victory points. Add to that a combo engine which will remind some players of the very famous Magic The Gathering !

Game variations
For added playability, Res Arcana incorporates two additional game modes:

Draft (2 to 4 players): changes the game setup with the basic rules
Mini tournament (2 players): adds a draft phase during a 2 or 3 game tournament

Two extensions, Lux & Tenebrae And Pearl Empireadd additional Places of Power and mechanics, such as Demons and Pearls.
