Bose wants to compete with Apple with new QuietComfort Earbuds wireless headphones
One year after the marketing of high-end wireless headphones QuietComfort Ultra EarbudsBose is back with a more accessible version soberly named QuietComfort Earbuds. Launched at €199, compared to €259 for the Ultra version, these new headphones retain many advanced functions. Among them, there is a noise reduction system faithful to Bose's reputation, a robust nomadic design, an ergonomic app, and much more.
The QuietComfort Earbuds also stand out with an in-ear design that naturally promotes the effectiveness of noise reduction. They could then position themselves as serious competitors to the AirPods 4 with ANCalso launched at €199. Indeed, the latter being of the type open-fittheir noise reduction would be less effective compared to some headphones in their price range.
In-ear design and competition-class noise reduction
Compared to the Ultra, each earbud gives up a microphone dedicated to voice capture and noise cancellation. Unsurprisingly, we can therefore expect lighter performance on this side. It is however important to specify that Bose products are generally very impressive in this area. And the American brand affirms it, the QuietComfort Earbuds have “best-in-class noise reduction“. We will not fail to check if it is capable of competing with those of the market leaders during a future test to be published on The Digitals.
Additionally, Bose does not fail to boast about their sound quality by promising “a rich and satisfying listening experience“. No technical details are given, as usual with Bose, except for the presence of the latest generation Bluetooth 5.3.
In terms of features, there is a transparency mode that allows the user to stay in touch with the environment. The latter is simply controlled using touch controls, just like the volume and playback. In addition, the QuietComfort Earbuds work in tandem with the Bose QC app, which allows you to customize the touch controls, access an equalizer and activate a low latency mode. Thanks to the fun Remote Selfie function, the user can even trigger the taking of a photo remotely using the headphones.
Two hours more battery life than the Ultra
Of course, the QuietComfort Earbuds benefit from an IPX4 certification protecting them against splashes and will, we hope, demonstrate an exemplary level of comfort. Among the obvious good points attributed to these small “button” type earphones, we highlight their 8-hour battery life. Its battery actually provides two additional hours of listening time compared to the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds.

If they really did deliver performance close to Bose's flagships for a more affordable price, these wireless earbuds would have no trouble becoming a bestseller. The QuietComfort Earbuds are available today in black, white, and purple finishes.
