Whatsapp: after years of waiting, a flagship function should finally arrive
While WhatsApp is certainly one of the most widely used and popular instant messaging applications in the world, it is nonetheless not necessarily at the forefront of features accessible and highlighted on the market. We had to wait a few months earlier to take advantage of the implementation of augmented reality effectively during group video conversations, for example. And once again, Whatsapp is clearly preparing to add a function that has been available from the competition for quite some time: themes per conversation.
Themes, finally?
So how will this new function be structured? According to Wabetainfowhich has unveiled the contents of the beta 2.24.17.19 of Whatsapp for Android, it will be possible to choose a specific and predetermined visual theme by default for conversations, or to customize them as desired. This involves the possibility of choosing the colors of the conversation bubbles, but also the background image of each of them. This function has already been present on other applications for a while, but as the saying goes: better late than never.
Note also that it will be possible to increase or decrease the brightness of each discussion: it is essentially a kind of dark mode directly integrated into Whatsapp, customizable for each conversation according to the desire or needs of the user. Then, once you have chosen a theme, it will become the default appearance of your conversations, and it will then be possible to modify this appearance individually by conversation, as is the custom with the competition. Now it remains to be determined when this new feature will leave the simple beta status, to become usable in a stable version.
