iPhone 16: the exact battery capacities of the different models are out
Apple never reveals the exact capabilities of its new products, generally contenting itself with giving an idea of the autonomy and declaring that they are better than those of the previous generation. Marketed since today, the iPhone 16 and its variations have however passed through the Brazilian regulator Anatel (country where it is assembled, with India and China), which reveals (via the site BlogdoiPhone) which would be the exact values of these batteries.
The iPhone 16 does better than the 15, especially for the Pro version
Here is the data revealed around the batteries of the iPhone 16, with a comparison with the equivalent in the 15 generation:
- iPhone 16 : 3,561mAh, compared to 3,349mAh for the iPhone 15, an increase of +6.3%
- iPhone 16 Plus : 4,674mAh, compared to 4,383mAh for the iPhone 15 Plus, an increase of +6.6%
- iPhone 16 Pro : 3,582mAh, compared to 3,274mAh for the iPhone 16 Pro, an increase of +9.4%
- iPhone 16 Pro Max : 4,685mAh, compared to 4,422mAh for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, an increase of +5.9%
So, it's the iPhone 16 Pro that gains the most this year, approaching 10% more raw capacity, unlike the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Let's not forget that the other new components of these smartphones and the latest version of iOS can consume more than before, making this increase in capacity negligible in terms of autonomy.
While waiting for the tests, Apple announces 22 hours of autonomy for the iPhone 16 (compared to 20 hours for the iPhone 15), 27 hours for the iPhone 16 Plus (compared to 26 hours), 27 hours for the iPhone 16 Pro (compared to 23 hours) and 33 hours for the iPhone 16 Pro Max (compared to 29 hours).
Better for the load too
Let's also remember that the charging of the different iPhone 16 should be better, going up to 45W. An element that still remains to be confirmed. Finally, let's point out that comparing these batteries with those present in the best Android smartphones does not make much sense, since the optimization and consumption of iOS and Android are very different. See you in a few days for our tests!
