Sandman (Netflix): Season 2 promises to dazzle fans in a new making-of
On the occasion of the Geeked Week event which took place this week, Netflix lifted the veil on the second season of Sandmanwhich will be available on the streaming platform next year. The opportunity to take stock of what awaits the Sandman in these new episodes, and to give an overview of the characters he will meet.
An Early Family Reunion
As we already knewthe second season of Sandman will adapt several stories from the comics of the same name written by Neil Gaiman. Events highly anticipated by fans such as the Infinis family meal or the banquet organized by Dream, will take place in this new season.
A glimpse of these sequences can also be seen in the behind-the-scenes video for season 2 posted online by Netflix, as the series' showrunner, Allan Heinberg, and actor Tom Sturridge (Dream) explain that this new wave of episodes explores new locations, characters and time periods.
“We're introducing the rest of the Infinis, to round out the family we saw in Season 1,” Heinberg points out, while Sturridge points out that having the members of this family all together in one room is particularly “thrilling.”
The new members of the Infinis siblings introduced in season 2 are Delirium/Délire in the guise of Esmé Creed-Miles, Destiny/Destiné played by Adrian Lester, and The Prodigal played by Barry Sloane. But they are far from being the only newcomers this season…
Thor and Loki Invite Themselves to the Dream Kingdom
“I can't wait for the audience to see the banquet Dream throws for all the deities and fairies who visit him in The Season of Mists. You'll meet Thor, Loki, Odin… It's an exceptional moment,” adds Heinberg. “Comic book fans will not be disappointed.”
In fact, in the comic strip The Season of MistsLucifer relinquishes control of Hell and gives Dream the key to its gates, leading many other immortal beings to visit him to try to convince him to give them this key.

The video above allows us to see the first images of the banquet and the Norse gods Thor (Laurence O'Fuarain), Loki (Freddie Fox) and Odin (Clive Russell) present for the occasion.
The notable absentee from these images is the author of the comics, Neil Gaiman, who is currently facing five accusations of sexual assault.
The production of two other adaptations of Gaiman's works, the series Good Omens (Prime Video) and the film Graveyard Book (Disney) have recently been suspended following these complaints. It remains to be seen whether this will also have an impact on the future of Sandman.
