Squid Game season 2: Netflix releases a promising new teaser, with new games
We've never been closer to the highly anticipated second season of Squid Gamescheduled for next December on Netflix. To keep us waiting, the streaming platform has just unveiled a brand new teaser, with a first glimpse of the new games.
“The game will not stop”
In these 45 short seconds of footage, the Netflix event series gives us something to be intrigued about. We find Seong Gi-hun where we left him at the end of season 1. The survivor has abandoned the idea of going to the United States, and seems to still be looking for the creators of Squid Game…until they found him.
Here is the official synopsis of this season 2: “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 remains determined to track down the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport. But when his efforts finally bear fruit, the path to the organization's destruction proves deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he must once again participate in it.”
A huge new prize, hundreds of new contestants, familiar faces and of course new games can be glimpsed in this teaser, which has a way of raising our expectations despite its brevity.

Season 2 is still written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who won an Emmy Award for his work on the first season. It will feature the return of Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo, as well as a slew of new contestants.
Three years after the release of the inaugural season, the event series Squid Game is set to make its big comeback on Netflix. With 265.2 million views, it is still the most popular program of all time on the platform. It is therefore no surprise that this sequel is highly anticipated.
As a reminder, a third and final season of the series has already been announced for 2025. But it will not mark the end of the universe. Squid Gamesince Netflix intends to make it one of its future franchises.
So, besides video games and a reality TV sequel Squid Game: The Challenge, an English language remake piloted by David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club) would also be in the pipeline. To be continued.
