Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra: the latest information (design, battery and fast charging)
There hasn't been a week without the Galaxy S25 making headlines. Last week, we shared images of the upcoming Ultra model, created by @OnLeaks. The tipster has since published a series of 3D renderings of the standard model and the Plus version.
Visually, nothing seems to have changed much for these successors to the Galaxy S24 and 24+: flat edges, rounded corners, flat screen and waterdrop-shaped photo module. As with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, we simply notice that the rings around the rear photo sensors are a little thicker.
In terms of dimensions, the big change reported is on the thickness side. Both smartphones would in fact be 0.4 mm thinner compared to the current generation: 7.3 mm thick for the Galaxy S25+, against 7.2 mm for the Galaxy S25. According to Ice Universethe Galaxy S25 Ultra would also be affected by this slimming treatment, making it fall to 8.2 mm instead of 8.6 mm.
Galaxy S25: 4000mAh, thickness -0.4mm, 7.2mm
Galaxy S25+: 4900mAh, thickness -0.4mm, 7.3mm
Galaxy S25U: 5000mAh, thickness -0.4mm, 8.2mm— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) September 17, 2024
Still on the design side, the leaker said on Twitter/X on September 17 that the borders around the screen would be 0.2 mm thinner compared to those of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Enough to launch a new little war between the future flagship premium smartphones from Apple and Samsung in 2025.
On the autonomy side, bad news has leaked from everywhere: the batteries would not evolve. We would thus remain limited to a capacity of 4,000 mAh for the Galaxy S24, 4,900 mAh for the Galaxy S25 + and 5,000 mAh for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
As for fast charging, only one change would be part of it. Indeed, the recent 3C certifications show a significant change for the Galaxy S25, with the presence of 45W wired charging instead of 25W. The Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra would keep the same power as the S24+ and S24 Ultra: 45W.
