Huawei is coming to Europe very soon with three electric SUVs
As Huawei relentlessly innovates in the smartphone market or even tablets (and still struggling to convince in the West without Google's services), the company continues its breakthrough in the field of electric cars.
To achieve its goals, the brand can count on an alliance that it initiated in 2023 with Chinese car manufacturers: Seres, Cherry, BAIC BluePark and JAC.
Wikipedia precise including that “Huawei participates in product definition, design, marketing, user experience and quality control, and provides intelligent vehicle software and hardware to traditional automakers.”
This also allowed him to make his own vehicles with the help of his partners, including Luxeed S7 or the Aito M5, M7 and M9. The first was created with the help of Chery Automobile, against Seres for the other three.
Frandroid also reported on September 21, 2024 an interesting piece of information concerning Aito: its arrival in Europe. Indeed, a press release from Huawei's automobile brand revealed the presence of the three vehicles previously mentioned on October 11 at the Paris Motor Show.
Renamed Aito, 5, Aito 7 and Aito 9, these models are targeting the electric SUV market, with the added bonus of Harmony OS and autonomous driving (except for the Aito 7).
We also learned that Huawei will offer an “extended range” engine, i.e. combining electric power on one side and gasoline to recharge the batteries on the other. The opportunity to enjoy a WLTP range of 200 to 233 km, and a cumulative WLTP range (battery + gasoline) of 1,150 to 1,239 km.
According to our colleagues at Frandroid, the choice to offer cars that are not 100% electric could be a strategy by Huawei to counter new European customs duties regarding this type of vehicles.
So, see you on October 11, 2024 to learn more about the arrival of Aito in Europe, and, hopefully, the prices and release dates on the old continent.
