iOS 18: Siri's redesign could be coming soon
Well-known for his coverage of the Apple company, journalist Mark Gurman once again offered his weekly newsletter for Bloomberg this weekend. The latter is often an opportunity to discover a whole bunch of Apple-related information in advance, its author being widely recognized for the reliability of his reports. This week is no exception: in his newsletter, Gurman suggests that some of the new Siri features could be integrated as early as the iOS 18.3 update, while they were expected for iOS 18.4.
US update schedule accelerated
Concretely, this means that Planned improvements for Siri could be available as early as January, instead of March as initially planned. Gurman also goes into detail about the timeline for iOS 18: according to him, iOS 18.1 (currently available in beta) should be available in public version as early as October. iOS 18.2 will also be available as early as December and should integrate Image Playground (a way to create images using text descriptions), Genmoji (to generate personalized emojis) and ChatGPT in Siri.
iOS 18.3 is scheduled for January and should benefit from the first major new features for Siri, followed by iOS 18.4 in March. This update scheduled for March should be the most important, since it will allow the final integration of all the new features related to Apple Intelligence. Be careful though: this schedule only concerns the USA and English-speaking users for the moment: in fact, Apple Intelligence should only happenduring the year 2025 in Frenchwithout further details on the date from the Apple company. But the acceleration of the schedule anticipated by Mark Gurman could be good news regarding a faster localization here.
