Our opinion on the Asus VivoBook S1405VA-DRLY276W
Easy to carry multimedia-oriented laptop, theAsus VivoBook S1405VA-DRLY276W is powerful thanks to its 16 GB of RAM and especially its Intel Raptor Lake hybrid Core i9-13900H processor with Iris Xe graphics adapted to light games that accelerate multimedia processing. This is also the case for the fast SSD storage with a high capacity of 1 TB which reinforces its responsiveness. This thin and light compact Ultrabook which runs on Windows 11 is also equipped with a 14-inch Full HD 16/10th IPS screen, a backlit keyboard, a NumPad numeric keypad module as well as USB-C connectivity. But this versatile laptop with an elegant silver design does not have Wi-Fi 6.

Chassis, connectivity, screen of the Asus VivoBook S1405VA-DRLY276W
With its thin, light and compact light silver design certified to the American military robustness standard MIL-STD-810G, this Ultrabook adopts a sober and elegant look.
The wired connectivity integrated into this versatile multimedia-oriented laptop is good, consisting of a practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a monitor or TV for example, an audio port, a USB-C but also 3 USBs including 2 USB 3.0 (compatible with USB 2.0) ensuring transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect USB 3.0 peripherals to it.
In terms of wireless connectivity, if Bluetooth 5.1 is very good, what a shame to find Wi-Fi 5 ac and not the more recent and efficient Wi-Fi 6 ax!
You can of course activate a backlighting system for the chiclet keyboard when you need to better distinguish its keys.
Good point for those who regularly enter numbers: the NumberPad functionality is present. Consequently, once activated, a NumPad – a touch numeric keypad – takes the place of the touchpad.
Let's remember that, like all models with a format of less than 15 inches, this laptop does not have the necessary space on the right to accommodate a physical numeric keypad.
The Full HD screen displays more information than average thanks to its 16/10 format, which is taller than the classic 16/9.
For the rest, it adopts classic specifications with significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles thanks to its IPS technology. But also an anti-reflective coating making it more readable in bright environments (e.g. outdoors) than a glossy panel.
The colorimetry is average because the IPS here is not high-end.
Performance, battery life of the Asus VivoBook S1405VA-DRLY276W
The Asus VivoBook S1405VA-DRLY276W may be of interest to those looking for a compact, multimedia-oriented laptop with high processor performance.
It is in fact driven by a high-end Intel Raptor Lake Core i9-13900H processor with 14 hybrid cores and integrated Iris Xe graphics module.
The Core i9 is paired with 16GB of RAM to deliver good overall power that will delight demanding users.
Creatives will be particularly attracted since this core deploys its potential in areas that are demanding in terms of CPU and RAM resources, taking advantage of multi-cores, such as video editing or photo retouching.
Under this type of work, processing is carried out more quickly than if we were dealing with a classic Quad/Hexa Core and 8 GB DDR4/5.
On the other hand, some will regret the absence of hardware acceleration. Indeed, no dedicated graphics card is included, which will also put off gamers.
Unless of course they just play light games. In any case, viewing HD photos and videos is obviously possible thanks to the Iris Xe.
Whether it's processing, software launches, startups/shutdowns or even the arrival of online games on the maps, they are fast.
This is due to the performance of the core. But also to the SSD storage which provides great responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis.
An SSD is indeed fast, in addition to being shock-resistant, energy-efficient and silent. Here it offers a high capacity of 1000 GB to install and store quantities of applications and files with peace of mind.
Easy to carry because it is compact, thin and light, this multimedia-oriented silver Ultrabook with high-performance processor will interest some people looking for a student laptop not needing a lot of battery life. Its battery life is around 6 hours on battery with light use.
