YouTube Premium: Beware, expect a sharp increase in the subscription price
When Google raises its prices, it's not just a little bit. After already raising prices by YouTube Premium last yearthe firm is doing it again and is once again asking its subscribers to reach into their pockets if they wish to continue to have access to the Individual and Family offers.
A salty increase
In Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium, YouTube Premium subscribers have received an email announcing a price increase of between 30 and 50%, as reported by our colleagues at Android Police.
So, in these countries, if the individual subscription to YouTube Premium goes from €11.99 to €13.99, it's really on the Family offer side that it's a cold shower: the price goes up from €17.99 to €25.99, an increase of 8 euros.
In France, the prices remain the same for the moment, with the individual subscription set at €12.99 and the family subscription at the price of €23.99.
It is therefore expected that the increase, if it ends up affecting France, will be less brutal for French subscribers, because the price of YouTube Premium subscriptions in France are already close to these new rates introduced by our European neighbors.
The news was not well received by subscribers in these countries, who went to Reddit to spread this announcement and express their discontent.
