Positioned in the mid-range segment, these in-ear headphones called Enco X3i combine acoustic performance, advanced noise reduction and ergonomics. However, they stand out timidly from their elders Enco X2released two years ago now.
Two-way architecture and noise reduction with amazing performance
The Enco X3i first of all take up the two-way architecture of their big brothers. Based on a 10.4 mm bass speaker and a 6 mm tweeter, it would provide a sound ” balanced and more precise » compared to a standard design. The headphones would, however, stand out from their predecessors by a better extension in the low end of the spectrum, with an ability to go down to 15 Hz.
Connectivity-wise, the headphones still support the LHDC codec for uncompressed wireless reception up to 24-bit/96kHz. Furthermore, while Oppo announces an unchanged latency of 94ms, we can now count on a multipoint Bluetooth connection.
The Enco X3i are obviously equipped with a transparency mode and an active noise reduction system adjustable on three levels. The latter would now be able to reach 49 dB of attenuation up to 4 kHz (in Max mode). The 45 dB of the Enco X2 already seemed far-fetched to us compared to the best headphones in the segment. True references in the field, the Sony WF-1000XM5 do not actually exceed 35 dB over the entire frequency range.
Updated technologies and slightly revised design
The sound improvements don’t stop there. Oppo now equips its headphones with spatial sound technology (OPPO Alive Audio) that transforms any audio signal into a three-dimensional listening experience. Surpassing its predecessor “, the Golden Sound personalization feature returns in version 2.0 to correct sound leaks and equalize sound according to the shape of the ear canal.
Higher quality phone calls are also said to be part of the Enco X3i's upgrades. The three pickup microphones are now said to be paired with an AI algorithm to amplify voice and cancel out wind noise.”more efficiently“.
There are no changes to improve on-the-go use, except for the ability to control the volume by sliding your finger on the stem of the earphones. The latter have also been given a makeover by matching the shape of the shells. Finally, the portable charging case has been refined and lightened for better transportability.
The Enco X3i's battery life remains very similar to that of the Enco X2. Oppo simply gives us an extra 30 minutes, extending it to 10 hours without noise reduction. They will be available from November 2024 in blue and dark gray finishes at a price of €129.
