Galaxy S25: Samsung's next flagship will use the same photo sensor as the S22
Same main camera sensor from S22 to S26?
As a reminder, the last time Samsung changed its main photo sensor for a premium model was in 2022 for its Galaxy S22: at the time, the Korean firm replaced the 12 Mp sensor generally used in its models (except ultra) with a more impressive 50 Mp sensor. This was a significant improvement at the time, but here's the thing: after using exactly the same sensor for its S23 and S24, the recipe is starting to get repetitive. And clearly, things are not going to get any better.
Indeed, if we believe Ice Universea leaker known for his generally quite reliable leaks about Samsung, the South Korean firm could well keep this same photo sensor for its next range, the S25. Worse, it would even last until the Galaxy S26! If this information were to be verified, this would imply an absence of change for 5 generations of smartphones. Unheard of, especially since Samsung is not necessarily known for the quality of the photos offered in its smartphones, especially in the face of much more aggressive competition in the field (Apple or Google to name but two). Obviously, this is a “leak”, so its veracity remains to be determined. Especially since Samsung was recently able to announce that the S25 would benefit from a “high-end” camera…
