iPhone: Unsurprisingly, Apple's smartphones are the best-selling of 2024 so far
The company specializing in research Omdia has published its report on the best-selling smartphones of the first half of 2024. And if Apple remains in the lead without any real problem, Android smartphones still have reason to rejoice. The ranking is as follows: with more than 21.8 million models sold over the period, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the best-selling model, followed by the iPhone 15, with 17.8 million. But just behind, the Samsung Galaxy A15 is lying in wait with 17.3 million sales.
Apple still the leader… but for how long?
In fourth place, we find the iPhone 15 Pro (16.9 million), followed by the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (12.6 million) in fifth place. We can also note the presence of the Xiaomi Redmi 13C in eighth place with 11.8 million models sold. So, if we just base ourselves on these figures, Apple maintains its leading position without any problem. However, if we take a look at the sales of previous years, we can see a real downward trend for the apple company.
Indeed, in 2023, Apple occupied the top four places in the ranking, with much higher figures: over the same period, the iPhone 14 Pro Max had sold 26.5 million units, the iPhone 14 Pro 21 million, the iPhone 14 16.5 million and finally the iPhone 13 15.5 million units. The disparity with 2022 is all the more glaring: the iPhone 13 was in first place with 33.7 million models sold. So, while Apple remains largely in the lead for the moment, the less expensive models on the market, such as the Xiaomi Redmi 13C or the Samsung Galaxy A15, could well end up catching up…
