Nintendo recently submitted a mysterious wireless device to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). While this device is not the Switch 2, its features are intriguing. Codenamed CLO-001, this device could be a new Nintendo product.
A mysterious Nintendo device appears!
Its model number is similar to those of consoles like the Switch (HAC-001) or the Nintendo DS (NTR-001). However, the FCC classifies it as a “wireless device”without further details on its exact nature.
The filings reveal some interesting details about its design. The device has a square shape with rounded corners, with a recessed area on its underside to accommodate the FCC label. Notably, there is no internal battery. Power is supplied via a USB-C port, continuously, with the same charger as the Nintendo Switch.
Surprisingly, this Nintendo device is equipped with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi radio and a 24 GHz millimeter wave sensor. No 5 GHz or 6 GHz Wi-Fi, and even less Bluetooth.
The 24 GHz millimeter wave sensor could serve as a motion radar to detect the presence of a user nearby or recognize specific gestures. This is a technology reminiscent of the 60 Hz sensors in some smartphones or home automation devices.

Several theories put forward by Internet users
Some believe it's a new gesture control interface, others say it's a device for Super Nintendo World. It could also be the project Quality of Life which allows you to track sleep. Or even support for augmented reality.
While we wait for official information from Nintendo, this mysterious device is fueling rumors and excitement around the future projects of the Japanese giant. And if its launch was done at the same time as that of the Switch 2 ?
