Oppo Reno 12 FS 5G and Watch X: Oppo is back in force with smartphones and accessories
Back on the European telephone market, the Chinese brand Oppo has presented several products to expand its catalog, starting with the Reno 12 FS 5G which will be released in November 2024 at a price of €349.
This new variation of the Reno 12 released in summer 2024 has a solid technical sheet. Its 6.67-inch Oled FHD+ panel offers a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness estimated at 1200 cd/m² in direct sunlight. The smartphone is armed with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor associated with 12 GB of RAM + 12 GB of virtual RAM and 512 GB of expandable storage up to 2 TB. A configuration that allows it to support 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and wifi 5.
Like the Glyph interface of Nothing smartphones, this one is equipped with a light system surrounding the camera block, serving as a charge indicator, notifications, and can flash to the rhythm of the music. A photo block that has a triple module composed of a 50 Mpx main sensor (f / 1.8), an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle (f / 2.2), a 2 Mpx macro (f / 2.4) and a 32 Mpx front camera (f / 2.4).
The device also follows the trend by offering different AI tools: an improved magic eraser, inspired by the famous function launched by Google, as well as intelligent clipping. Practical if you want to erase your “ex” from a photo and integrate your new crush. However, artificial intelligence is not limited to the photo part, because Oppo has developed its own features for image generation, audio playback, automatic summary, or even writing assistance. The brand having a hybrid approach to the implementation of AI, if some options are executed locally, others are executed in the cloud.
Finally, there is a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 45 W fast charging and IP64 certified waterproofing. Note that a 4G version with a lighter technical sheet will be sold simultaneously for €249, with both devices running Android 14 via ColorOS 14.0 out of the box and only entitled to two years of major updates (three years of security patches).
Oppo also unveiled two other products: a smartwatch, the Watch X, and a pair of headphones, the Enco X3i, also available in November. The Watch X shares similarities with OnePlus' Watch 2, namely a 466 x 466 pixel AMOLED display, a 46 mm case and a hybrid system combining Wear OS 4 and RTOS with a Snapdragon W5 chip. The main differences are the colors of the straps and the price, with the Watch X being offered at €329, compared to €349 for the OnePlus watch.
As for the Enco X3i, they offer active noise reduction, support for the LHCD 5.0 codec and an announced battery life of 44 hours.
