Xiaomi TV Max 85 and 100: the cheapest giant televisions on the market are arriving
If most of the market is concentrated on 55 and 65 inch televisions, manufacturers now offer increasingly larger and ever less expensive diagonals. Chinese manufacturers like Hisense and TCL offer numerous models in the catalog that exceed 85 inches (like the E7NQ Pro passed through our lab) whether in LCD with affordable prices, or in ultra high-end Mini-Led with a 115-inch TCL X955 which costs a small ticket of €20,000.
The tech giant Xiaomi is not to be outdone and has just unveiled two new giant televisions simply called TV Max 85 2025 and TV Max 100 2025 – yes, they are probably a little ahead of their time – with diagonals of 85 and 100 inches, as their names suggest.
A minimum price for maximum TVs
The big surprise comes from their prices which are likely to challenge other manufacturers: the 85-inch model will be sold for €1,300 and the 100-inch model for just €2,000, a few hundred euros cheaper than the direct competition. We must also put these prices into perspective with Oled screens – certainly much better – which reach €25,000 in 97 inches.
At this price, we will be entitled to a 4K LCD panel (3840 x 2160) with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ compatible and three HDMI 2.1 ports. Google TV will serve as an interface with the host of applications that go with it, but you will have to make do with a fairly limited sound system a priori since the TV only has two 15 W speakers. Given the size of the screen, a soundbar or speakers should be necessary anyway for a better viewing experience.
It remains to be seen if Xiaomi has not made too many compromises in terms of image quality and brightness in HDR, but there is only one test that will be able to tell us for certain! We'll see if the TV makes it past our lab door, but in the meantime, you can always watch our test of the giant E7NQ Pro if you are looking for a television over 85 inches at a reasonable price.
