Xiaomi is preparing three very promising electric cars: what we know
Headlining, we find the Ultra version of the SU7 sedan. This sporty model promises to be a real power monster: three electric motors for a cumulative power of 1,548 horsepower. Xiaomi is aiming for the lap record on the iconic Nürburgring circuit.
The Ultra version of the SU7 breaks records
The figures put forward are dizzying: 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 5.96 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h. The braking capacity is not to be outdone: a deceleration of 2.36 G making it possible to stop the car launched at 100 km/h in just 25 meters.
Despite its substantial weight of 1,900 kg, the Ultra version of the SU7 sedan achieves this performance via its carbon fiber bodywork and advanced aerodynamics. The rear wing generates up to 2,145 kg of downforce at high speeds for optimal stability and handling.
As explained previously, Xiaomi does not stop there since two other electric cars are in the starting blocks.
Two more Xiaomi electric cars coming
The first, codenamed MX11, would adopt a coupe SUV silhouette. Its launch is planned for 2025. This model will be followed in 2026 by another, more imposing, six-seater. Code name N1. Its particularity: an electric motor associated with a thermal autonomy extender acting as a generator.
Rumors speak of the integration of advanced braking technologies on these future SUVs. The MX11 would benefit from the system “Dynamic Power Braking”. The N3 would feature the second generation of technology “Intelligent Power Braking”.
Xiaomi is very ambitious in terms of expansion like other Chinese manufacturers like BYD. The firm delivered 27,307 of its SU7 in the second quarter of 2024 for a turnover of 792 million euros. The stated objective is to reach 100,000 units produced each year by next November.
A study published by Electric Vehicles underlines that this rapid diversification of the Xiaomi range could reshuffle the cards on the high-end electric vehicle market, until now dominated by Western manufacturers and Tesla.
