With its Kraken V4 Pro, Razer wants to steal your ears (and your bank)
If some manufacturers are trying (a little) to limit the surge in prices of gaming accessories, Razer seems to have abandoned the idea. Here comes a new iteration of its most high-end gaming headset, the Kraken V4 Pro, which has decided to very clearly target the most demanding and wealthy players.
Coming alongside the more modest Kraken V4 and Kraken V4 Blackshark And Barracuda), the Kraken V4 Pro represents the ultimate headset from Razer. If you're willing to pay the price, it's hard to find a feature that's missing. This is a THX Spatial Audio compatible headset, and therefore 7.1.
Weighing 397 grams and equipped with 40 mm drivers, this headset can be used wired (USB or 3.5 mm), Bluetooth 5.3 or 2.4 GHz wireless. This is the manufacturer's first headset that can be used simultaneously via Bluetooth and wireless to hear sound coming from two terminals.
This all goes through an OLED screen control hub. It is also here that it is possible to control the sound parameters or haptic feedback. The image displayed on the screen is also customizable. This hub has two USB-C ports and an AUX jack so you can use the headset on multiple devices, such as a PC, console and portable machine, and easily switch between them.
We mentioned haptic feedback. The Kraken V4 Pro is therefore compatible with this element in order to deliver even more sensations in the form of vibrations to players. The technology used, Sensa HD Haptics, is compatible with video games, but also music or films. Razer doesn't forget the microphone part of its headset. This is retractable and has a sampling rate of 32 kHz.
In terms of autonomy, in 2.4 GHz Razer announces 13 hours with the lighting on (since this headset is Chroma RGB compatible in 9 zones), but 50 hours without. With 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth activated at the same time, we then go down to 45 hours.
The mythological prize for excellence of the Kraken V4 Pro
The Razer Kraken V4 Pro has been available since September 28 at the hefty price of €450. As usual, the customization of this headset involves the in-house software, Synapse, which has just been upgraded to version 4 for a revamped interface and better performance.
