Apple would be working on a connected product dedicated to the home for next year
The last time Apple entered a new market was with the Apple Vision Pro. If the latter had the gift of making people talk about him, its prohibitive price and somewhat invasive designended up having the better of its public image, and in the long term its sales. However, this does not mean that such an attempt, namely the introduction into a new market, will not be repeated. Quite the contrary: if we are to believe Mark Gurman, the Bloomberg journalist familiar with the latest advances in the Cupertino company, Apple is on the verge of investing a little more in a less important market for it, that of smart homes.
A connected screen with directly integrated Apple Intelligence?
Indeed, according to Gurman, the Apple firm is currently preparing a connected screen for the home, planned for marketing next year. This new product should have several main features, including the ability to make Facetime calls, but also to control various connected objects in the home. On the other hand, it should directly integrate Apple Intelligence and have a dedicated operating system, called homeOS.
This isn't the first time we've heard of homeOS: earlier this year, the reference was discovered in the source code of tvOS 17.4. This statement from Gurman therefore brings a little more credibility to the creation of connected tools for the home by Apple. Furthermore, according to the Bloomberg journalist, this connected screen is planned for a price of around 1000 dollars when it is marketed.
