Become the King of Arcana!

In Res Arcana, mages compete to win the title of King of Arcana. To achieve this, you will need to possess places of power and ancient monuments.

Start the game with an essence of each type, 3 artifacts in hand and a magic item. Then during a round of play, collect essences and perform one action per turn until everyone has played. The player with the greatest number of victory points wins the game.

Res Arcana is a simple and elegant game, based on the optimization of the Artifact card deck and the judicious use of magical essences. It offers innovative and exciting gameplay that offers a multitude of strategies and high replayability.

Welcome to Res Arcana!

A game takes place over several rounds (generally 4 and 6 rounds) which each consists of several stages:

• Collect Essences: Players simultaneously collect Essences based on the collection abilities their game items have.

• Perform actions: Each player must perform 1 action. The game continues until all players have passed. A player who passes cannot perform any further actions during this round.

• Perform a victory check: When all players have passed, a victory check is carried out to see if at least one player has reached or exceeded 10 points by accumulating the points present on their artifacts, monuments, places of power and the tile First player. If a player succeeds, the game ends. The player with the most points is declared the winner and becomes the Arcane King.

Variants of the game

For more playability, Res Arcana includes two additional game modes:

• Draft (2 to 4 players): modifies the setup of the game with the basic rules

• Mini tournament (2 players): adds a draft phase during a 2 or 3 game tournament
