Apple: five new products planned for October 2024
The end of the year is full of new things at Apple. The Apple firm has in fact made a habit of presenting in September new iPhones And accessoriesand to focus in October on Macs and iPads.
2024 should be no exception to the rule, and several products are already being considered for the event. First of all, Apple would release a new generation of MacBook Pros equipped with the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Pro Max chips. Note, the base model would be entitled to a significant RAM boost.
The Mac mini would then make its comeback. Still stuck with the M2 and M2 Pro chip, Apple's miniature computer would now use the M4… but not only that. Indeed, the rumors lean towards the arrival ofa new, even more compact design. Small disappointment for some: USB-A ports would disappear definitely, leaving room for USB-C.
The iMac would also be entitled to its refresh with M4 chip, barely a year after the release of the M3 generation. No other developments would be included for this new model.
A discreet change could still be on the horizon: USB-C accessories. Indeed, the Magic Keyboard and the Magic Mouse are still stuck at the Lightning. European legislation also requires Apple to make the transition to the universal port by the end of 2024.
In terms of tablets, two models would be on the program: the iPad 11 and theiPad mini 7. The first would move to the A17 chip, against the A18 or the M1 for the second (and therefore Apple Intelligence). We would therefore simply be facing an update on the performance side.
Speaking of artificial intelligence, Apple could release its first Apple Intelligence functions from beta at its October conference. These would thus be available immediately via the update. iOS 18.1but would remain always exclusive to Americans.
