BYD breaks sales records, its electric cars sell at crazy speed
BYD posts a new record with 419,426 new energy vehicles (NEV) sold last September, an increase of 45.91% compared to September 2023. This is the 4th consecutive month of record sales for the company which also a hit with its subsidiary Denza.
A dazzling progression for BYD
Sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) increased enormously with 252,647 units sold in September. This is the seventh consecutive monthly record for this category, with an impressive increase of 86.17% year-over-year.
Sales of 100% electric vehicles (BEV) also saw growth, although more modest, with 164,956 units sold, an increase of 9.1% compared to the previous year.
In the international market, BYD sold 33,012 vehicles in September, up 17.74% year-on-year.
These results show strong quarterly momentum. During the third quarter of 2024, BYD crossed the milestone of one million vehicles sold in a quarter for the first time, with 1,134,892 units sold.
In the first nine months of the year, BYD's total NEV sales reached 2,747,875 units, up 32.13% compared to the same period in 2023.
