Splendor, a resource acquisition game
In Splendor, you are the head of a merchant guild. Your goal is to get rich and become the most prestigious merchant in the kingdom.
Thanks to gem tokens symbolizing precious stones, you will acquire developments which will themselves generate new resources. You will have to manage them as best as possible to attract wealthy patrons, including the bloodthirsty Henry VIII. Obsidians, emeralds, rubies, diamonds, gold or sapphires, use your wealth wisely and enter the virtuous circle of prestige!
Splendor, simple mechanics, quick games
With Splendor, you won't end up in endless games. Every turn is fast. Players have the right to perform a single action. The 4 possible actions are:
- take 2 identical gem tokens
- take 3 different gem tokens
- spend resources to acquire development
- reserve a card to get it later
But this simplicity does not prevent this game from having a good dose of strategy. Observe your opponents, anticipate and reserve the right cards. The game ends when a player manages to obtain 15 prestige points by accumulating nobles and developments.
