While the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra are just waiting to be presented at the start of 2025, the Galaxy S26 is already making waves through an information leak.

In a Twitter/X post shared on October 1, 2024, Ice Universe has indeed revealed that Samsung plans to abandon the standard model of this generation, “because it is no longer competitive”. Only the Galaxy S26+ and S26 Ultra would be included.

To justify his remarks, the informant explains after having mentioned the arrival of a Oppo Find X8 small and powerful as Chinese brands are “much better than Samsung and Apple at making small cell phones”.

Staying in this segment would therefore be wasted effort for Samsung in the face of competition. “You will realize that the Galaxy S25 is no longer worth selling. The gap between them is too big”he adds.

Faced with this rumor, we can only think of Samsung's choice to operate on its range of high-end tablets at the end of 2025.

In fact, the manufacturer recently abandoned the standard model, thus leaving room for the two most expensive versions: the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra. However, no reason was given for this change in strategy.

It now remains to be seen whether Samsung will apply a similar policy to its Galaxy S in 2026. Sales of the Galaxy S25 would therefore play a big role in Samsung's decision.

For information, LesMobiles reported in June 2024 that 4.33 million Galaxy S24s had been sold since its release on January 30, 2024, compared to 2.91 million units for the Galaxy S24+ and 7.7 million for the Galaxy 24 Ultra.

Encouraging figures for the standard model, the 2025 version of which will have to jostle for its survival in the face of fierce Chinese competition.
