iPhone SE: The release of the next model is becoming clearer
A new iPhone SE with Face ID, Dynamic Island and OLED screen
The last time the iPhone SE was entitled to a new model was in 2022. Since then, the entry-level smartphone has remained the same and inevitably, it has lost its splendor over time. It is therefore time for Apple to offer a new model, more in keeping with the times. So, for this next device, rumors speak in particular of an OLED screen, but also of the appearance of the Dynamic Island at the top of the screen to stick to the design of other iPhone models. On the other hand, in his most recent report, Mark Gurman mentions the abandonment of the famous menu button located below the screen. For the first time, the iPhone SE will therefore be entitled to Face ID, which will change its quick unlocking. And then, the icing on the cake: this new iPhone SE will benefit from the A18 chip which already powers the new iPhone 16, and which allows the use of Apple Intelligence. It now remains to determine its price.
In addition to the iPhone SE, an internal redesign of the iPad Air
In addition to the new iPhone SE, Apple is expected to jointly launch a new iPad Air model according to Gruman. This information is particularly surprising since the firm took advantage of 2024 to release a brand new iPad Air model with an M2 chip. Gruman doesn't specify which processor will power these new iPad Air models, but he does say they will be 11 and 13 inches, respectively, and should feature only internal changes compared to the current iPad Airs. At the same time, Apple should also improve its accessories, such as compatible keyboards, which could benefit in particular from a larger touchpad. Thus, according to Mark Gurman, all these new products should be presented at the beginning of next year, without further details (but it is already better than “spring”).
