A change in operation for Qualcomm and its Snapdragons

An image from Digital Chat Station suggests that Qualcomm is preparing to unify its mobile and PC chips under one roof. This merger of the manufacturer's SoCs under the Snapdragon Elite brand, that's its name, could help it further strengthen its solid position in the industry.

As with Apple with its M and A series, the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon 8 Gen series could thus serve as common bases for future chips used in mobile devices and laptops. This grouping of the two segments should help developers be more efficient, since they would work on a single common platform.

A unified architecture for greater efficiency

Resource savings for Qualcomm are also to be expected with such a change in strategy. Additionally, with a shared base between PC and smartphones, native support for applications and games should be improved. This is already the case at Apple. The addition of powerful features exclusive to one side, to the other, such as AI on the Snapdragon X Elite, is also another argument in favor of this potential merger.

Maybe the future Xiaomi 15which must be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, will be the first smartphone to benefit from this new organization. Answer at the end of October!
