In this autumn month, Bose wants to bring music back into our homes. To warm hearts, the manufacturer lifted the veil this October 2, 2024 on a new portable connected speaker, the SoundLink Home.

By taking the name “Home”, the attacked segment is clear and clear: the house. This is clearly reflected in the design of this new accessory, featuring an anodized aluminum support and an audio system covered with a fabric grille.

In terms of dimensions, we are faced with a compact format of 21.6 cm in height, 11.2 cm in width and 5.8 cm in depth, for a weight of 875 grams. It will therefore easily find its place in the decor, with all-purpose finishes: light silver and cold gray.

In terms of audio, Bose announces that its speaker offers “clear, crisp sound and enough bass to fill any room” in mono. To upgrade to stereo, you will need to purchase a second SoundLink Home. The announced autonomy is 9 hours for normal use, or only 2.5 hours with the volume at maximum. To charge it, it takes place via USB-C, and takes four hours.

The connectivity offered by default is, unsurprisingly, Bluetooth, here in version 5.3, which allows it to enjoy a maximum range of 9 meters. It is also possible to use the USB-C port to connect your smartphone, tablet or even wired computer. A microphone is then included, to answer a call or interact with your favorite voice assistant.

Please note, no waterproof certification is included on the Bose SoundLink Home. It will therefore be more than necessary to keep it away from risk areas, such as the kitchen or the bathroom.

At the moment, the SoundLink Home is reserved for the US market at a price of $219. An exclusivity which should quickly be lifted by the end of year holidays in 2024.
