Copilot in WhatsApp: a discreet and perfectible integration of Microsoft's AI
A few days ago, Microsoft gave its artificial intelligence, Copilot, a serious lick of paint. In order to reach more users outside of those who primarily access it on Windows 11 (but also the web or mobile), the Redmond firm has decided to arrive on one of the most used instant messaging services in the world: WhatsApp.
An integration that is part of a bigger plan
This integration takes place in the form of a chatbot in a conversation. Microsoft promises natural discussions, clear answers or even the creation of images according to keywords. Unsurprisingly, the AI starts in English and seems more comfortable in this language for the moment, but it is also possible to switch to French.
For simple questions, during our quick test Copilot did rather well despite some slight approximations or somewhat risky translations. The AI even gives links to its sources where appropriate. Unsurprisingly, on certain topics (like politics), artificial intelligence prefers to change the subject.
To test Copilot on WhatsApp, before more direct integration, for the moment a small simple operation must be carried out. Direction theofficial websitewhere you then simply scan the QR code with your smartphone to be redirected to WhatsApp, where a conversation with Copilot begins.
WhatsApp is a free and secure instant messaging service that allows you to keep in touch with all your friends or family, you can download and install it on all platforms.
